Tell me if you’ve heard this before: A stay-at-home-mom with three kids that you know is looking to make some extra money. She’s considering a part time job at a local grocery store but is concerned about her kids’ crazy schedule and not being able to put in a lot of hours. She thinks that she might be better off working from home and decides to start researching the internet to see what’s available.

Googling “make money online” returns an array of website links that claim to be able to make you $2,000, $4,000, even $8,000 per week on the internet. Sure it can be done … but don’t get trapped. Some of these “money-makers” are legit, some are not. You definitely need to do a little research before plunking down your hard-earned cash and investing a substantial amount of time.
Here are some specific steps that will help you look for a great part-time, flex-time, or even full-time home based opportunity and avoid the scammers:
Step #1: See What’s Available – Find the Opportunities
Find websites that have done some of the homework for you (or at least found different programs, job opportunities, and money makers on and offline). You’ll discover that they range anywhere from making money via Google’s Adsense and Adwords program, getting paid to take surveys, and marketing products on the internet and eBay to marketing supplemental health products and other home based opportunities. There’s a niche for anything you would like to market. You just have to find it.
Step #2: Investigate the Opportunity
After you’ve found something that interests you do some investigation. Ask yourself: Am I comfortable with this? Is it legit? What’s my downside risk (is there a refund policy)? What type of support should I expect (& need)? What’s my cost(s) and how long until I expect to breakeven? Can I You’ve found the perfect really make money? Think of this opportunity like a business.
Step #3: Commit
You’ve done all of the necessary research and found the best work from home opportunity. You’re comfortable with the product / service and know it will succeed. Now commit. If you treat the opportunity like a part-time job don’t expect anything more than a part-time income. Control your destiny and make it happen.
